From June 5th to 8th, 2025, the National Show Jumping Championship was held at the Yangtze River Delta International Equestrian Event Center in Guangde. The event attracted teams and individuals from 10 provinces and cities across the country, with a total of 71 horse-rider pairs competing. Representing the Shandong team, rider Zhang Yong from Shandong Fulong Equestrian Club successfully defended his individual title with a consistent and steady performance.

The competition featured both a team event (which also served as the individual qualifier) and an individual final. The top 25 riders (including ties) based on individual scores in the team event qualified for the individual final. The pace for horse-rider combinations in the team event was increased from 350 meters per minute to 375 meters per minute, raising both the difficulty and the spectacle of the competition.

After the team event (individual qualifier), 21 horse-rider pairs advanced to the individual final. In the first round of the individual competition, Mula Deli from the Guangxi team, riding the horse Qing Qichi, delivered a smooth and consistent performance to temporarily take the lead with zero penalties and a time of 79.63 seconds. Close behind was Zhang Yong from the Shandong team, riding Nizel, also with zero penalties and a time of 86.81 seconds.

In the second round, Zhang Yong and Nizel completed their round flawlessly in 76.49 seconds, securing Zhang Yong’s successful title defense. Additionally, Wang Yuejiang of Weifang Fulong Equestrian received the Best Horse Owner Award of the competition.
