What is overseas marriage certificate certification?

When it is necessary to prove overseas marriage relationships in China, relevant government departments (including courts) will require notarization and authentication of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and foreign marriage certificates. This is foreign-related marriage notarization. The main uses of foreign (overseas) marriage certificates include: : Foreigners apply for Chinese permanent residence ID card (Chinese green card), inheritance distribution, real estate sales, divorce, etc.

Certification process

1. Entrust a foreign lawyer and notary to notarize the marriage certificate registered abroad;

2. Entrust a foreign lawyer to notarize the notarized marriage certificate in the foreign ministry of that country;

3. Entrust a foreign lawyer to authenticate the marriage certificate notarized by the foreign ministry of the country at the Chinese embassy or consulate in that country.

4. Foreign lawyers send the certified legal documents back to China for use, and the Chinese and English translations must be backed up.
